After an Oklahoma State Athletic Commission inquiry of former TU football player George Clinkscale's death at a church boxing event, the commission found they had “no authority or jurisdiction over the event,” officials said Friday.

On Sept. 21, George Clinkscale, 24, participated at GUTS Church “Fight Night." GUTS Church officials said he signed a medical release saying he was in good health. Later that night, Clinkscale complained of cramps and dehydration, GUTS officials said.

EMSA paramedics transported Clinkscale to the hospital where he later died.

Joe Miller with the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission who oversees boxing matches said none of the participants or officials who were involved with the event holds a commission license.

“The commission will confer with legislators and investigate the possibility of amending or adding language to state statue to deal with situations of this nature,” Miller said.

Go to the local Tulsa news website for the latest news. The State of Oklahoma has no jurisdiction over that AMATURE fight-No charges filed. Is everyone still saddened? Of Course! But when does personal responsibility come into play? Anyone who enters the ring is dancing with death.
