Having secured the Silver Medal, Sarai Medina faced the Swedish SUSAN KARINKI on Friday May 9 in the final of the 2014 IFMA World Cup. Fatigue and injuries from previous battles took their toll on her. She was a huge part of the Spanish Team but lost to Susan Karinki, who was proclaimed world champion at 48 kg.

It was one of our best teams in recent times. With only 6 competitors we came home with 2 medals: Carlos Coello won Bronze in Class B and Sarai Medina brought home Silver. Our team gave it the best both in victory and defeat. All teams recognized our work. We fought with heart. With only 9 members on our team, there were than 50 others to overcome. Reaching the women’s final was such an accomplishment. Only Sweden finished ahead us. We also went against an absolute majority of the public. In the end everything counts, and public pressure was decisive. No excuse for anything. We are all members of a happy team with our results and proud the team fought through. For now we expect Poland to end the year with the European Cup next year and global in BRAZIL!!
