Port Hueneme, California – May 31, 2012 — After more than a year hiatus, American World Champion Michael Mananquil, is stepping back into the ring, just in time to fight for his next title. Standing in the way is WBC Muay Thai Champion Luis “El Shogun” Bio, the Mexican Rising Star known for delivering non-stop action in the “Super fight” of the evening. Presented by Muay Thai Xtreme – MXMMA and Oceanview Pavilion (OP), it’s WCK Muay Thai at its best, promoted by Dennis Warner and In-Sync Productions, scheduled to begin at 6pm on Saturday July 7, 2012 at the scenic oceanfront arena Oceanview Pavilion in Port Hueneme, located next to the US Naval Base in Ventura County, amidst a Hollywood style red carpet show gala.

Michael Mananquil, the American born Filipino from San Francisco’s World Team USA originally won his title defeating Danny Steele. His last fight was an impressive win against Malaipet at Lion Fight Promotions “Battle in the Desert” February 2011. Mananquil is anxious to show fans his new quickness and style of unrelenting fury.

His opponent, Luis “El Shogun” Bio is the WBC Muay Thai Champion, training out of The Boxing Club-Team Greatness in San Diego, has been busy. Bio is undefeated since winning the WBC title in Cancun in 2010, including his most recent stoppage of one of Mexico’s top fighters, Erik Mejia in a second round TKO in Mexico City on May 12, remaining the reigning WBC Muay Thai Mexican Middleweight Champion.

Legendary Southern California and Las Vegas Promoter Dennis Warner advises “These are two hungry human whirlwinds ready to collide,” says Warner. “Prepare for something special from two top athletes in their prime, with something to prove”.

The headline co-main event is a North vs South epic…pitting the hard charging fan favorite and IKF Champion TJ Arcangel of San Francisco (14-1) defending his World Super Lightweight Title against Alfred Khashakyan, of Team Armenia (10-1) Glendale, CA in a 5 round event. Both fighters always leave it all in the ring…explaining why both are fan favorites. Only one will walk away as champion.

Still, the evening showcase is “Muay Thai Xtreme – Beach Bash 1” – a single elimination tournament in search of America’s “Best in the West” in the126 weight class – the first step in a national competition to crown America’s world-class fighters in the search to achieve their dream —- as part of a new TV reality show.

Oceanview Pavilion Executive Vice President Sharon Kloeris says “we are excited about bringing professional mixed martial arts fighting to our community while expanding the sport of Muay Thai to our coastal neighbors throughout Southern and Central California. Muay Thai Xtreme is about action and is the first of a three fight series this year to showcase the best of our community against America’s best.”

Matchups will be determined by draw at the weigh-ins. Winners will advance to “Muay Thai Xtreme – Beach Bash 2” in September –
